Talk about a crappy flight.

An American Airlines flight headed to Spain was forced to make an emergency stop in New York City Wednesday when the plane bathroom began overflowing, officials said.

The flight had only just departed from Dallas when the lavatory issue bubbled up, according to the FAA.

The plane touched down at John F. Kennedy International Airport around 10:30 p.m.

American Airlines confirmed that the “maintenance issue” involved the bathroom sinks and offered its passengers travel accommodations for the night as they awaited a new plane to continue the international journey.

“The aircraft landed normally and is scheduled to re-depart [Thursday] evening on a new aircraft. We never want to disrupt our customers’ travel plans and apologize for the inconvenience,” an American Airlines spokesperson said in a statement.

The disgusting diversion comes amid a series of bizarre incidents last month that forced American Airlines to make emergency landings.

In one terrifying incident, an Amsterdam flight was diverted to JFK when several passengers fell ill after being served spoiled food, the FAA said.

Also last month, one of the airline’s Boeing 737 planes was forced to abort takeoff in Florida after one of its wheels exploded on the runway.
