After six rounds of the 2024 British Superbike season, Christian Iddon heads to Thruxton to chase the championship.
Christian Eddon is third overall in the British Superbike Championship, with the Oxford Products Racing rider in third place. Eddon is just five points behind second-placed Glenn Irwin and 24 points behind championship leader Tommy Bridewell.
This weekend’s round takes place at the Oxford Products Racing Ducati team’s home in Thruxton. It is a round that will prove decisive in determining the championship standings.
“The season so far has been really positive,” said Eddon. “Obviously we are currently third in the championship and I am keeping a close eye on the top positions because that is all I really want and all the team wants. It has been a strong and positive start, we have had a good winter, had a strong first round and it has continued from there.
“We had a lot of difficulties, the most notable being when I crashed at Donington in the first race and got some minor injuries, it was a tough weekend, but we managed to hang on and get some strong results and then recover well in the next round. All the conditions were good and it looks good.
“I’m excited, I’m enjoying the Thruxton race,” continued Eddon. “I’ve always loved it, it’s something completely different and I don’t think you’ll find it anywhere else in the world. As hard as it is for us, it’s also fun to drive, so we’ll make the most of the scenario we’re facing when we get there, just keep an eye on the head of that championship and try to stay as close as possible because the clash is coming up very soon!”
