One Tree Hill Star Chad Michael Murray spoke about the sequel series to the popular WB/CW youth drama in development at Netflix, which will be executive produced by and star former co-stars Sophia Bush and Hilary Burton.

While discussing his upcoming Netflix movie Merry gentlemenin which he stars alongside Britt Robertson, Murray expressed his excitement for fans who will see many of their favorites continue their stories. “I really want some iteration of this show to come back to the fans,” he told Deadline. “I'll tell you, whatever iteration of the show is, I want it for the fans. There's such a brotherhood and bond between so many people all over the world with us. I'm grateful for that.”

Robertson jokingly stated that she was trying to convince Murray to participate in the sequel because “my mother is obsessed with the show,” but said that Murray would not tell her anything. When Deadline broke the news in August, Murray's involvement didn't seem likely. The actor did not say whether his plans have changed.
