Netflix is ​​turning its first live football TV broadcast into a Super Bowl-style affair by adding a music star to the lineup. Beyoncé will perform her first-ever NFL Christmas Gameday concert on December 25. Its set will take place during Game 2 of Netflix's two-game set, as the Houston Texans host the Baltimore Ravens at NRG Stadium at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Beyoncé's mini-concert in her hometown of Houston, Texas, produced by her label Parkwood Entertainment and Jesse Collins Entertainment, marks the first live performance of songs from her album. Cowboy CarterWhich recently received 11 Grammy Award nominations. Artists on the album are expected to appear alongside her.

This represents a strong move by a newcomer to the NFL television football game as Netflix pitches the incumbents with a Super Bowl-rivaling production.

Beyoncé has that experience, having performed during halftime at two Super Bowl games. She headlined Super Bowl XLVII on February 3, 2013, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was joined on stage by Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, her Destiny's Child bandmates. For Super Bowl XV, on February 7, 2016, she joined Coldplay and Bruno Mars in Santa Clara, California.

Netflix has struck a two-year deal with the NFL for Christmas TV broadcasts in 2025 and 2026. And the first game of the year, Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, at 1 p.m. ET. In keeping with NFL holiday tradition, Netflix Christmas Day games will be broadcast on broadcast television in the competing teams' cities and will be available on US mobile devices equipped with NFL+.

In the lead-up to the live football matches, Netflix on Friday moved the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul in a TV broadcast plagued by audio and streaming glitches.

Beyoncé previously starred in the 2019 film Homecoming Netflix has reportedly signed a multi-project deal with the streamer.
