Prince Andrew has become “increasingly clingy” to his daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, after his brother, King Charles, financially deprived him, according to a report.
The Duke of York, 64, was on the verge of leaving the royal assembly after Charles refused to continue shouldering his brother's financial burden.
However, it sensationally emerged last week that Andrew found a mystery financial backer at the eleventh hour, allowing him and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, to remain in the royal digs.
The ordeal has left the king, 76, “fed up” – and prompted him to start removing valuables from the estate due to maintenance and security concerns.
“Andrew is like a lost puppy these days, constantly relying on Sarah and their daughters for emotional support,” a palace source told InTouch.
“He has become increasingly clingy to them, reaching out to them every chance he gets, as if they are his only lifeline.”
Andrew's daughters, who have families of their own, are two of the few members who still give the scandal-ridden royal family the time of day.
“While Sarah and the girls are fairly sympathetic, they also have their own lives to manage,” the insider said, adding that Beatrice and Eugenie felt “stressed” after their father’s PR nightmare.
Andrew has lived at this sprawling estate, located on the grounds of Windsor Castle, since 2004.
The king was desperately trying to move his brother from the 31-room estate to the smaller Frogmore Cottage, but he refused.
The latter property has remained empty since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle handed over the keys in 2023.
Since finding an anonymous financial backer, Andrew has faced calls from the UK Government to reveal the source of his new funding – something he has yet to do.
It remains unclear exactly where Andrew obtained the funding to stay on the property, as his only known source of steady income is his Royal Navy pension.
The father of two children has been living on huge allocations from the king’s personal wealth since 2019 after he was linked to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
His list of expenses includes $4 million worth of personal security a year, plus a regular cash allowance – both of which Charles no longer foot the bill for.
