Michael Strahan took issue with Houston Texans player Aziz El Shaer's vicious hit on Trevor Lawrence that led to his ejection.
The 53-year-old Strahan went on a rant during the Week 13 edition of Fox NFL Sunday.
Shaer hit Lawrence in the head after the quarterback slipped following a fumble late in the first half.
The hit sparked two scuffles when Lawrence was on the field for several minutes and was eventually taken off on a trolley.
Fox aired the Texans-Jaguars game on Sunday and the network switched to studio coverage at halftime.
Strahan took the opportunity to criticize the undrafted linebacker from Florida Atlantic Poet.

“I think he threw himself out of the game” I New York The Giants defensive end said.
“I personally think he did it because he realized that if he stayed in the game, he wouldn't be protected.
“What he did – everyone knows him as a defensive player – don't do it.”
Strahan continued, saying the play is “so unnecessary because regardless of offense, defense and how you feel, you protect your game; you protect your guys.
“We respect each other a lot on the field, even when we compete.
“It was completely uncalled for.”
This was Lawrence's first game back after missing two games with a shoulder injury.
The former first-round pick was ruled out for the remainder of the contest due to a concussion.
Fortunately, Lawrence did not need to be taken to the hospital hospital.
The poet is likely to be subjected to a heavy fine and possible suspension.
Strahan wasn't the only Fox NFL Sunday star to strongly comment on the situation.
“It's clear and obvious that Trevor Lawrence is going to back down, but dear poet, he did something he shouldn't have done,” Rob Gronkowski said.
“He'll definitely have second thoughts about it, sitting in the locker room, because he was sent off from the game.
“He kind of uses his elbow brace and launches himself into Trevor Lawrence's head and knocks him down and makes him stiff, which is something you never want to see.”
Mac Jones Replaced Lawrence at signal caller.
The Texans went on to win 23-20.
