Lizzo admitted that the lawsuit, brought by former dancers Ariana Davis, Crystal Williams and Noel Rodriguez, left her emotionally reeling. The singer stated:
“For the last year and a half, I needed time to process and grow as a person…I was literally living my dream and then the tour ended and three dancers completely blindsided me with a lawsuit.”
This unexpected legal challenge sent Lizzo into a deep emotional struggle, forcing her to step away from her music career to focus on healing and growth.
Despite the turmoil, Lizzo found solace in her music. She revealed that immediately after the lawsuit was filed, she began writing several songs — some of which may never be released publicly due to her emotional state at the time.
“Music saved my life, directly, because that period of my life… that period of my life was very dark because of the feeling of betrayal.”
Lizzo shared emotionally.
The singer emphasized how music helped her overcome the feelings of betrayal and disappointment caused by the lawsuit.
Addressing allegations
Lizzo has strongly denied the sexual harassment allegations against her, calling them “ridiculous” and “ridiculous.” I mentioned:
“Let's be clear, I did nothing wrong… The sexual harassment allegations against me are the ones that upset me the most, but they are absurd and absurd.”
Despite her denials, Lizzo admitted that the lawsuit had a significant impact on her mental state and career path.
Lizzo continues to fight the allegations made by Davis, Williams, and Rodriguez. She remains a defendant in the ongoing lawsuit. Additionally, she is facing similar allegations from fashion designer Asha Daniels, who alleged she faced racial and sexual harassment while working with Lizzo on tour.
A judge recently dismissed Daniels' individual claims, but Lizzo's company Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc. remains a defendant in the case. The singer stressed that she “continues to fight other claims until they are all denied, not dropped or denied.”
