The FBI is now investigating horrific body camera footage that showed prison guards beating a handcuffed inmate to death.

The feds are reviewing the horrific video after Robert Brooks, 43, died after being beaten in a New York prison.

The shocking footage shows Brooks being punched, kicked and neck-tied at Marcy Correctional Facility in a prison examination room.

Brooks' family said they wanted the public to watch the horrifying video to see the “extreme” attack.

“Mr. Brooks was severely beaten by a group of officers whose job it was to keep him safe,” family attorney Elizabeth Mazur said.

The FBI said in a statement: “The… FBI The Albany Field Office and the Department of Justice are reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding the death of Robert L. Brooks to determine the appropriate federal response.

“Because this is an ongoing thing review“We cannot comment further at this time.”

The state's attorney general is investigating the officers' use of force against Brooks.

“Like all New Yorkers, I was outraged and horrified after seeing the footage of the senseless killing of Robert Brooks,” New York Governor Kathy Hochul said.

“Once again, I would like to offer my deepest condolences to Mr. Brooks. family and their loved ones as they mourn his tragic death.

“I am grateful to the prosecutor, her team, our state police, and everyone who works with us to ensure justice is served in this case.”

Hochul added that she had ordered an investigation into Brooks' death.

She directed the State Department Corrections and Community Supervision Commissioner Daniel Martosello “to begin the process of ending the lives of the fourteen individuals who participated in his fatal attack.”

The footage, taken from four guards who were present during the December 9 beating, shows Brooks handcuffed and pinned down while being punched in the face and stomped on his intestines.

Other officers stand by and watch as the prisoner continues to be abused and blood begins to flow from his face during the 30-minute episode.

The video shows one of the guards lifting him by the neck and holding him in a stranglehold to force him to sit on the exam table.

Brooks was forced to stand and held against a wall before being returned to the table in his underwear appearing unconscious and limp.

Brooks, 43, was serving a 12-year prison sentence for assault, according to the report New York mail.

Brooks was taken to Wayne Hospital in Utica and was pronounced dead from “asphyxia due to neck compression” in the early morning of Dec. 10, Syracuse.com reported.
