A 12-year-old girl admitted to stabbing her father to death hours after trying to escape, according to cops.
The unidentified man admitted to killing his father, James Walde, 56, during a “dispute” at their North Las Vegas apartment on Friday night, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
She had earlier tried to escape, but police brought her back to her home a few hours before the killing, according to authorities.
Police said: “No evidence was found to indicate that significant physical harm had been caused to the girl prior to the incident.”
Police have responded to the apartment several times before, including when she tried to escape a previous time, on Dec. 7, Fox 6 Vegas reported.
She was arrested about a week later for allegedly hitting and injuring him in a previous fight, police said.
Another relative called police on Friday to report the father's death. The 12-year-old initially claimed an intruder killed her father, but eventually confessed to stabbing her, police said.
She was arrested and booked into the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of murder.
