Strictly Come Dancing Program alumnus Giovanni Pernice, one of the UK's most famous professional dancers who left under a cloud this year after allegations of abuse by his famous former partner, admitted he believed the controversy would mark the end of his successful career.
Bernice was one of the biggest dancing stars on the country's biggest show until early 2024 when he was accused of abusive behavior by actress Amanda Abbington, who left the show in 2023 and later made a complaint about Bernice to the BBC.
Following an internal investigation, Bernice was cleared of ten of the 16 allegations of abusive behaviour, but pressure led to him withdrawing from the show before the important 20.y Anniversary season in fall/winter 2024.
He said woman The newspaper: “I'm not going to lie, there were dark moments, you know, this is over, this is the end of my career. That was one of my difficult moments.
“Sorry for my language but 2024 could end. I've been looking forward to seeing the back of it.”
Regarding his ex-partner Abington's allegations, he said: “Every time she came out with another interview, I always kept calm inside. Believe me, it wasn't easy, there were dark times.”
Despite his rating this year, Bernice has enjoyed success elsewhere. Featured on BBC 20y Special anniversary to celebrate successfully Strictly Come Dancingand returns to the screen in the celebrity edition of the Channel 4 reality show stalker. 2024 also saw him win the Italian version of the dance show with partner Banca Guaccero, and the pair recently confirmed their romance.
