A targeted Cybertruck explosion: Letters

Issue: Suspect Matthew Livelsperger blew up a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas.

The attack in one of America's most iconic cities is a direct result of President Biden's term (“New Year's Evil,” Jan. 2).

The whole world – including terrorists – knows that America is led by the worst president in our nation's history and that they are taking advantage of Biden's murderous reign before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.

It is unreasonable to think that so many people want to extend this complete disaster for another four years.

Some might say that the term “honest politician” is a classic example of an oxymoron.

However, the most stupid contradiction is that offered by the uncle of the man who was driving the Tesla Cybertruck that exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.

“He loved Trump, and he was always a very patriotic soldier, a patriotic American,” his uncle said.

Please excuse me, but it seems to me that someone declaring their love for another person would not blow up a truck off their property to show their affection.

The bomber may have been upset by pledges Trump appeared to have broken before returning to the White House. That would include ending the war in Ukraine and lowering grocery prices, something he said he would do during his campaign, but now says may not be easy at all.

Early on New Year's Day, a truck killed 15 people in New Orleans, an e-truck explosion killed another in Las Vegas, and a mass shooting in Queens injured 10 others.

I'm sure liberals will shout loudly at the shooting and ignore the fact that violence is the real problem – not guns.

People have been killing each other since the dawn of time, before weapons were invented. It is only one way to kill, but it is not the real problem – violence is the problem.

It appears that electric cars could be a new weapon of choice for terrorists. How de rigueur!

You can carry enough fossil fuels to ignite explosions, without emitting pollutants back there – how environmentally friendly!

Can you imagine what Tim McVie would do with one of these?

The issue: CBS correspondent Jean Crawford's statement that Biden's mental decline has been underreported.

A CBS correspondent says the media should have been more forceful in questioning President Biden's cognitive decline, and how he could have changed the election, is laughable (“CBS Vet: Biden's Retraction is Botched News , December 31).

The network was complicit in hiding it for four years. Now, are we to believe that he has turned over some stones and is going to report real?

Old media is dead. There is nothing they can say or do now to change this narrative. In fact, we have been lied to by both sides for decades.

Yes, it seems that the country is in good hands after President-elect Trump won the elections. But until people go to prison, I won't be affected by it.

Her use of Gaslighting downplays the conspiratorial nature of this deception by the media and any future exploitation of it.

It is notable that in any statements made by Jean Crawford there is no mention of honesty, integrity and ethics. Instead, what she offered was her lament over the failure of one political party to change the outcome of the election — likely to its advantage.
