Daniel Craig has explained why he arrived at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards without his leading lady.

The 56-year-old actor, who was nominated for his work in the film “Queer,” arrived on the red carpet solo at the awards show on Sunday night, leading fans to wonder why his wife, Rachel Weisz, was not in attendance.

When asked by Extra if Weisz, 54, is “with you tonight,” the James Bond actor replied: “She's not, no, she's taking our little girl back to school.”

The pair, who tied the knot in a private ceremony in New York in 2011, are parents to 6-year-old daughter Grace.

Craig is also a father to daughter Ella, 32, who he shares with ex-wife Fiona Loudon, and a stepfather to Weisz's son, Henry, 17, whom he shares with ex Darren Aronofsky.

For the occasion, the British actor chose a black velvet double-breasted suit over a crisp white shirt and black tie.

He teamed the chic look with a pair of black patent leather boots and tinted clear-rimmed glasses.

At the ceremony, Craig lost the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture award to Adrien Brody, who won for his role in The Brutalist.

This is the third time that Craig has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award, after he was previously nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy nominations in 2020 and 2023 for his role as Benoit Blanc in the films Knives Out and Glass Onion.

As for his home life, Craig and his wife like to keep their private lives out of the spotlight.

However, the “No Time To Die” actor recently shared some thoughts on how to achieve the perfect work-life balance, telling the New York Times in November 2024, “I have a six-year-old at home. I don't want to be away from… Home as much as you were in the past.

For her part, Weisz spoke about the couple's home life in an April 2023 interview on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”

“Daniel and our daughter were watching Star Wars,” she said at the time. “It was like a father-daughter bonding experience, and they started out in the original experiments.”

The “Mummy” actress added that her daughter started asking her to Google things at one point, including “What does Darth Vader look like under his mask?”

“She wants to know everything,” Faiz said. “She's obsessed with mythology and these characters are very real to her.”
