Jocelyn Wildenstein – known as “Catwoman” for her cat-like appearance – will be cremated after her death on New Year's Eve.

The late social star's fiancé, Lloyd Klein, spoke to TMZ on Monday about plans for Wildenstein's remains, revealing that her ashes will be transported to her farm in Kenya.

However, before her ashes are transported abroad, Wildenstein will be remembered at a “small and private” funeral in Paris, Klein told the outlet.

Wildenstein's final resting place will be in Kenya alongside her family, where the remains of her mother and father are also located on the same farm.

Klein – who began dating the late socialite in 2003 – told TMZ he was “still in shock” over her death, which he described as “sudden”. She was 84 years old.

Last week, Klein confirmed Wildenstein's death in a statement to AFP, saying he was “saddened to announce” the news, according to the Daily Mail.

Wildenstein died of a pulmonary embolism. Klein told People magazine that they took a nap before the new year and she didn't wake up.

“We were taking a nap and when I… [woke] “I woke up, and I said, 'Jocelyn, we've got to wake up, we've got to get dressed,' and she was cold and dead,” he recalled.

“It's very sad. It's very sad. It's very sad to lie down with your other half who I've known for 21 years and wait to celebrate New Year's Eve and find it cold.”

He also claimed her death was due to phlebitis, which is “inflammation of the vein,” according to WebMD.

“Because of the phlebitis, her legs were very swollen, the blood was clogged, and there was no oxygen to the brain,” Klein told the outlet.

The longtime couple got engaged in 2017 after Klein popped the question.

Before her relationship with the fashion designer, Jocelyn was best known for her marriage to French art dealer Alec En Wildenstein.

The two were married from 1978 until their messy divorce in 1999. They had two children: daughter Diane and son Alec Jr.

Jocelyn was known for allegedly changing her appearance to resemble a lynx, according to The Sun.

Despite her obvious physical transformation over the years, she denied ever having had any plastic surgery, but did admit to trying Botox during an interview with the outlet in November 2024.
