Taylor Kitsch might be ready to relive some memories and repeat his memories Friday night lights role in the upcoming Peacock reboot.
Universal Television is working on a remake of the sports drama series, and Kitsch says he's been approached.
“I've been asked, and we'll leave it at that,” the actor said on SiriusXM. Spotlight with Jessica Shaw While promoting Netflix series American primitivism.
Ketch explained that he was not asked to be a footballer but “to be part of some kind of reboot”.
The actor said he was “flattered” to be asked to reprise his role, but don't count on him continuing to work. Friday night lights universe for a very long time.
“Never say never, but I'll come in and do something, maybe an episode or something, but I don't want to go and do the whole thing,” he says. “I'll go and have fun but I don't want to lead the FNL reboot or anything. I like roles that are constantly challenging and I like to keep pushing.
Kitsch played Tim Riggins throughout the show's five-season run. When asked if he wanted to play Riggins again or a new character, the actor said he was open to doing both.
However, Kitsch noted, “If you saw me as someone else, you'd say, 'That's Riggins.'
Kitsch also floated an idea about how his character might appear in the reboot, saying: “I'll go and maybe play a rival team's coach or something like that and be on screen for eight seconds. I'll do that.”
Deadline reported in December that Universal Television would produce the show for Peacock, which comes from Jason Katims, who was the original showrunner, original director Peter Berg, and producer Brian Grazer. The trio will executive produce alongside Christine Zoellner for Imagine Entertainment.
The premise of the reboot will be set in the aftermath of a devastating hurricane when a high school football team and their damaged interim coach make an unlikely bid for the Texas High School State Championship and become a beacon of light for their city.
