The NFL is monitoring the California Fires ahead of the playoff game between the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings scheduled for Monday, January 13 at SoFi Stadium.
Multiple fires swept through Los Angeles County, destroying more than 1,000 structures, killing at least two people, and burning more than 15,000 acres.
“The AFL continues to monitor developments in the region closely and will remain in contact with both clubs and the AFL,” the league said in a statement.
SoFi Stadium is located in Englewood, about 20 miles from Pacific Palisades, the area hardest hit by the wildfires.
The Los Angeles Rams released a statement on social media amid the devastating fires.
“Our thoughts are with those affected by the Palisades wildfires and the first responders protecting our community. Be safe,” read the post on X.

After winning the NFC West division, the Rams are scheduled to face the Vikings in a Wild Card game on Monday night. The Vikings also posted a statement on the X, “We are thinking of the Rams' friends, community, and first responders during this time.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the fires,” Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp shared. Thank you to our firefighters, first responders and everyone doing their best in unimaginable circumstances.
Fellow Rams wide receiver Puka Nakoa also took to X to write, “Thank you to all the first responders! God bless the families affected!”
The fires affected the Hollywood industry, where shows such as Hacks, Abbott Elementary, Gray's Anatomy and NCIS,close middle mode. The BAFTA Tea Party has also been canceled amid the bushfires, with the organization saying: “The safety of our colleagues, friends and colleagues in Los Angeles remains our top priority, and our thoughts are with everyone affected.”D.”
