Hoda Kotb's final day on the Today Show after 17 years began with a tribute that moved her to tears.
There was no dry eye in the house after the Today Show hosts treated Kotb to a surprise video montage of some of her best moments and a look behind the scenes at the morning show.
“It was not fair,” Qutb said, crying after the touching video.
She went on to say that she wasn't able to talk about how affected she was by her exit from the show.
“I couldn’t express myself because I’m a mess most of the time,” Kotb admitted.
The TV icon went one by one and thanked her co-stars, beginning by telling Carson Daly that he was the show's “secret sauce.”

She thanked Al Roker for being her “first friend here” and then broke down even more when she told Guthrie: “You're my person.”
She then said she would be asleep when the show aired Monday morning, prompting Rucker to burst out laughing.
The special moment between the broadcasters was followed by surprise video messages from Jamie Lee Curtis and Oprah Winfrey.
During the video, Guthrie said Kotb gives amazing interviews because she connects with them easily because of her love for people.
“She's the best person in the world,” Guthrie said.
Craig Melvin agreed, saying she “doesn't do interviews – she has conversations.”
Melvin said he “will never forget” her kindness and generosity when it was announced that he would be taking her place on the Today Show.
Al Roker revealed that his dressing room is located right next to the mogul's room and that he will miss it every day.
He said that while he was hospitalized during his health ordeal in 2022, Qutb visited him every day.
Rucker said when Kotb surprised him with Christmas carols that year, the thought of them left him in tears.
“I cried that day,” he revealed.
