A British woman has died after falling in a popular rock climbing area near Malaga in southern Spain.
The victim, believed to be around 20 years old, was killed after falling 500 feet into a valley.
Her body was recovered by emergency services after the alarm was raised just after 7pm on Friday.
One of her friends miraculously survived when he grabbed a rock covered with bushes that was sticking out as he fell.
He was said to be in shock when he was rescued.
The tragedy occurred near the village of El Chorro, close to the famous Caminito del Rey road.
The climbers were in an area known as the Swiss sector the next To a place designated for picnics called “The Arab Staircase”.
It is understood that the unnamed mountaineers spent the day exercising and are believed to have met with their accident on their descent after accidentally taking the wrong route.

Local newspapers reported that the woman is British, and the nationality of the man who survived has not yet been revealed.
The Guardia Civil, the police force investigating the incident, has not yet issued any official comment, but is expected to do so over the weekend.

This is the second tragedy in the region for a British climber in less than a month.
On December 11, a man said to be around 20 years old fell and injured himself in an area known as Puente del Mono which translates into English as Monkey Bridge near the village of El Chorro.
He lost consciousness and went into cardiac arrest by the time emergency first responders arrived.
The Briton, whose name was not mentioned, was declared dead after the helicopter was rescued.
It is understood he was crossing a protected climbing route called a “via ferrata” where a metal rail is fixed into the mountain so users can attach it and use it as a safety line.
A spokesman for the Guardia Civil in Malaga said after last month's tragedy: “Members of the specialized Mount Grim rescue team of the Guardia Civil based in Alora near Malaga, supported by a Guardia Civil helicopter based in Granada, rescued the body of a young British man.” .
“He suffered a fall while crossing the via ferrata in the area known as the Monkey Bridge near El Chorro.
“When officers arrived the man had gone into cardiac arrest.
“Despite performing CPR on him and quickly evacuating him from the scene by helicopter to a nearby helipad where medical services were waiting, they could only confirm his death.”
