Prince Harry reportedly angered James Corden with such a harsh sarcasm that David Beckham was forced to intervene.
The Duke of Sussex, now 40, has been friends with TV presenter Corden for about a decade.

But their close friendship, once dubbed the “royal friendship,” got off to a very shaky start.
Harry was hosting a pre-Christmas entertainment for the boys at the Arts Club in Mayfair in 2011, according to the Daily Mail.
He was joined by A-list friends, including former footballer David Beckham and producer Ben Winstone.
Corden, 46, was starring in One Man, Two Guvnors in the West End, and went to the party as soon as he exited the theater.
But upon his arrival, a drunken Harry is said to have made a joke about the Gavin and Stacey star's appearance.
Corden was allegedly “absolutely furious” after the comment, which the newspaper chose not to reveal.
A source said: “There was euphoria when he arrived. He was a very loved part of the group and there were hugs and laughs.”
“It was a very large group. There were some of Harry's friends, some of James' friends, some of David's gang, and they were all intertwined.
“Then it all started. James was angry. It quickly became apparent that Harry had told a joke, and James certainly didn't find it funny.”
But Beckham (49 years old) then acted as a peacemaker and “spoke to both sides and reassured Corden that the harsh comment meant no harm.”
The pair formed a close friendship and have maintained it over the years since.
James joined the star-studded crowd at Harry and Meghan Markle's lavish Windsor Castle wedding in 2018.
The men are so close that the celebrities served as coordinator at the couple's reception later that day.
During a private reception with friends and family at Frogmore House, James provided some comedic relief by walking “into the middle of the tent Dressed as Henry VIII“.
Prince Harry continued to appear on The Late Late Show after leaving the royal family and moving to Los Angeles.
They had a wide-ranging conversation about journalism, serving the public and being a member of the royal family – and Harry even performed a song Short rap.
