She was seriously injured and was taken to hospital, where she underwent several emergency operations before sadly passing away surrounded by her family two days later.

Her older sister, Kianna, and her mother, Diane, flew to be by her side in her final moments.

In an Instagram post, Kiana said her sister was placed on life support and underwent multiple surgeries, but unfortunately it was not possible to save her from her serious injuries.

Courtney spent several years in Bali, which she considered her second home, before returning to Melbourne and moving back in with her parents.

Friday's tragedy was hit by a truck less than two years after she fell down the stairs in Bali in 2023, causing a brain hemorrhage.

Her shattered family has broken their silence to pay tribute to the free spirit who never turned down an adventure or an opportunity.

Courtney was a much-loved Melbourne DJ who played at some of the city's hot nightlife venues including the Metropole, Cushion, Secret Garden, Barclay Hotel and Eve Motel before launching her international career.

“She was beautiful, big-hearted and happy-go-lucky,” her mother Diane Mayne told Nine News.

“She lived life to the fullest,” the devastated mother added.

Courtney's sister, Kiani, said her death was ruled an accident.

“It's just sadness and mourning for a life lost too soon,” she told the Herald Sun.

“The most beautiful thing we've been able to do over the past two days is sit back and remember the amazing life she lived and how full her life was.

“She would drive hours and hours just to DJ for one hour.

“She was traveling across the country doing the job she loved so passionately, and to her it wasn't a job, it was a life.

“Being behind those floors made her feel free and we got to see her light up the rooms.”

Just five days before her death, Mills posted a clip of herself wearing a bright pink bikini dancing to the 1990s hit “Barbie Girl.”

There was an outpouring of grief and tributes from friends and entertainment figures after news of Courtney's death broke.

“Absolutely devastated. You were an angel and will definitely be remembered for your brilliance and kindness!” one person wrote.

That Sound added: “Today, we mourn the loss of a wonderful soul who brought joy, energy and passion everywhere she was.

“Courtney Mills was not only an amazing DJ, she was the beating heart of every party, a vibrant soul that connected us all.

“We are grateful for the moments we shared and the memories we made together.

“Rest in peace, your light will never fade.”

Fellow DJ Brandon Mangion described her as a ray of sunshine who lit up every room, but said her compassion is what sets her apart from everyone else.

“The last message I got from Courtney was: 'I'm here for you,'” he told Nine News.

“Reading that yesterday broke my heart.”

Courtney's body will be cremated in Bali on Wednesday.

Her sister Kiani wrote online: “This place [Bali] “It was her second home, so we want to honor her and leave a part of her here.”

“We will then return home with her ashes to celebrate her life the Courtney way in Melbourne,” he added.
