Alan Shearer: ‘An incredible battle’ – why Premier League top-five race is ‘impossible to call’

It is difficult to predict the results in the Premier League anyway, but at this stage of the season more difficult.

Looking at all the remaining club games now does not really help to determine what may happen, because some of the teams they face may have different priorities, or nothing they play completely.

Chelsea against Liverpool on May 4 is a good example of this. Liverpool can win the Premier League title next week, when they play Tottenham, and we do not know how their position will be after that.

You cannot blame the Arne Slot side if they go to Stamford Bridge after they are just heroes and they are not completely in it, but if this is the case, it is certain that it helps Chelsea.

Moreover, a similar situation can benefit Newcastle, which faces Arsenal in their penultimate game when Gunners has the Champions League final to look forward to.

It is the same for anyone who plays the role of Manchester United and Tottenham before the end of the season as well, because the European League is his priority now.

Even with this in mind, I still look at Chelsea equipment as among the most difficult, just because they should travel to two competitors, Newcastle and a forest, as part of running.

For this reason, it was a great result for them to lead matters against Fulham, especially because it seems that there are some disturbances between their fans and issues with some of the main players.
