Stokes were not guilty of threat in a high -level trial in 2018, after he was involved in a battle outside a nightclub in Bristol.
He told the court that he was drinking alcohol, but he was not drunk.
In the podcast interview, Stoxx described the differences in the culture of drinking cricket in the afternoon after the past.
“In the nineties and sixties, there were incredible stories [about drinking]. “I definitely settled a lot over the years,” said Stox.
“The game is more demanding on the body than it was at the time.
“There is a lot of cricket game, there is a lot in the timetable that it is impossible for the body to be able to bear all this anyway – even without the negative aspects of what a couple of beer can do at the end of the day the next day.”
The last Stokes record of the injury – which also included knee surgery at the end of 2023 – led to questions surrounding his future and his ability to play as an founder in the England test team.
But he said he was completely committed to the recent strict rehabilitation program and has no “interest in stopping.”
In recent weeks, Stocks have posted footage on the social media that has shown him bowling in training with Durham, and he hopes to play a full role against Zimbabwe.
“I think the day I wake up and cannot bother you to do the training program, and this is the time that you don't really want,” he said.
“But I had no interest in stopping.
“It is only difficult to do everything, and therefore, why do I now feel that I should work more difficult than the field, in the gym and all this kind of things to give me the best opportunity to be there to perform.
“But I will continue as long as I can.”
