However, experts in Beko, a leading company in the field of kitchen appliances, advise not to store milk in the refrigerator door, noting that this practice leads to lost milk and additional expenses. Beko says that British families usually move away from a food estimated at 250 pounds per person each year, as it reached 1,000 pounds for a family of four.

The company highlights that the way we organize our refrigerators contribute to this problem. Salah Sun, head of the products management at Beko UK, emphasizes that organizing the effective refrigerator is vital in reducing food waste. Sun states: “The way we organize our refrigerators can do our efforts or break them to reduce food waste.
“Most people do not realize that the poor refrigerator organization is not only related to beauty – it directly affects the age of food and your family's budget.”
Create dedicated areas inside the refrigerator is the key to extending the shelf life of your food, according to Express reports. “The temperature fluctuates inside the refrigerator, so storing the elements in the right areas is very important,” Sun explains.
“The lower shelf, being colder, is ideal for raw meat, while middle shelves maintain the ideal conditions of dairy and prepared foods.
“The door, which is often used for milk, is actually the hottest space due to frequent opening.
But it is not only about cutting waste when it comes to organizing the refrigerator effectively.
“When you can see everything easily, you are more likely to cook at home and make healthy options,” Sun notes.
“In addition, maintaining optimal storage conditions means that fresh products last longer, reducing waste frequency and shopping.”
