The Broadway inaugural collection will be built to honor many artists and industry members who have gone to a number of prominent stars such as Jin Hakman, Linda Lavin, Helen Galleger, Queens Jones, Ken Beige and Joan Blorin, among others.
All 41 Broadway Grafts will be inverted at the same time on Tuesday, June 10, 6:45 pm Each time, two days after the Tony Awards for this year.
Others are honored by the first group, Marshall Breakman, Richard Chamberlain, William Fein, Paths Fujard, Mirl Louise, Tony Roberts, Charles Strauss and Line Taylor Corbett.
The start of the DimMings Group, called Broadway in Memoriam, which will be held four times a year, was announced in March by newly formed Broadway in the Memoriam Committee in response to criticism on what some in the theater community saw as a very secret and very selective process.
The practice of obscurity on theater centers was a way to honor the permits of prominent stars at least since the fifties. The accidental explosions were provoked due to supervision – in particular after the death of Joan Rivers – but it reached a boiling point last year with the rapid caliphate of the death of the actors Maggie Smith, Javin Krill, Adrian Billy and Ken Beige.
While the individual Dimmeses will continue to define the world famous stars that are considered “deep importance” – Stephen Sondheim and Chita Rivera have been the examples presented when the new practice was announced in March – the Dimmes group was developed as a more comprehensive approach.
It was traditionally announced, by the Broadway League – by the Broadway League – the Trade Organization for theater and producers – but in reality, the obfuscation decisions were always determined by a committee of the owners of the Broadway Theater. The league officially moved away from its declared role after the controversy last year, with the ads that were now issued to the Broadway Committee in notes by an external advertising company.
Dimmeses will be held on Tuesday, in September, December, March and June.
