Callum Simpson chose the medium medium fabric twice before securing an amazing victory over Ivan Zoku in his hometown of Parinsley.
Simpson, 28, has a history of maintaining his record that was not defeated (18-0) to become the first European champion in the city when he was arrested Zucco in Italy in the tenth round of the Barnsley FC's OakWell.
The British devoted the victory to his sister, Lily Ray Simpson, who died at the age of 19 at a car accident in Greece last year.
“I did not give up once, in those past few rounds, I will be honest, I started thinking about my little sister Lily,” said Simpson.
“I would be honest, I thought I had to press for it and for everyone. This time last year, Lily was sitting here and she was chanting and there and tonight with me when it became difficult, when it became difficult.
“From the eighth round, I thought:” I must dig deeply, I must continue to pay, I must do it for it. “She was with me tonight.”
With victory, Simpson puts himself in a major competition for a step to the world by the end of the year.
But the tumultuous Okwell crowd is afraid of the worst with only eight seconds around the clock in the opening round when Zucco dropped Simpson with a solid left hand.
Simpson removed an early judge and hit Zucco with some wonderful punch on its own, but the home favorite was very square in the third round, where it was dropped for the second time with his left hand.
