“They sympathize with Antrim Gaa”, but Saffrons must move the Ulster Senior football championship against Armag to Pairc Eler.
The Andy Mcentere team was drawn to be at home at the last eighth meeting on April 12, but the Gaa GAA had previously stated that their Corrigan Park is now meeting with the “required health and safety standard” to accommodate “the expected crowd to visit the Irish champions.
With no suitable place in the province, Gaa said that the situation repeats the need to resolve the Casement Park as a “issue of urgency”.
The decision to organize the game in Newry was taken at the meeting of the ULSTER Competitions Committee (CCC) on Tuesday afternoon, as it ended a month of speculation around the place of the game.
At a previous CCC meeting last month, Corrigan Park was the only place presented by Antrim GAA and Saffrons Paddy McBRIDE by BBC Sport Ni that if the game is not held there, the boycott will not play it “may play it”.
