Vittoria Bussi destroyed a bicycle watch for women for the third time on Sunday.
The Italian contestant covered a distance of 50.455 km on Velodromo Bicentenario in Auguascalientes, Mexico.
The 38 -year -old put the new mark after giving up an attempt in the middle of the road directly on Saturday.
Bussi got the previous record after she became the first woman to break the 50 km barrier when she covered 50,267 km on the same Velodrome in October 2023.
She also got the record for three years from September 2018 to September 2021, when her brand of 48.007 km was improved by British contestant Jos Ludine (48.405 km).
Then the Dutch contestant Ellen Van Digk covered 49.254 km in May 2022, before Bussi recovered the record in 2023.
“I can say with a smile that I contributed to the date of the hour's record for women,” said Bosceous.
“This record has always been really special for me as a sporting and person, and I hope that I have moved to young generations and people who do not consider sports just a sporting performance but athletes bring messages to the world.
“The clock has taught me” that one of the most important things in life is a precious time at every moment of our lives. “
The current men's record holder is Philipo Jana in Italy, who covered 56.792 km in October 2022.
Bussi is scheduled to try another world record in Aguascalientes – the 4 -kilometer individual.
The record has been reduced several times since the individual chase distance increased from 3 km to 4 km in January, making it the same event for men.
British contestant Anna Morris holds the current record, four minutes 24.060 seconds, in Manchester in February.
