Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez was ordered to have a ban on his participation in a fight with fans while playing with Uruguay.

The punishment was confirmed as an appeal against the ban by the Sports Arbitration Court.

In August 2024, Nunez was banned by the South American Football Association for five international matches, and a fine of 15,145 pounds ($ 20,000), for an accident with spectators after they were beaten by Colombia.

The 25 -year -old was seen who were physically faced in the stands in the stands after the final whistle in the Copa America semi -finals in July 2024.

Nunez served two matches of the ban before CAS agreed to raise the comment temporarily in October 2024, while the case brought against him was investigated after an appeal from the Uruguay Football Association.

Four other players were also handed over from Uruguay, and they were fined, for being involved in the accident at Bank of America in Charlotte, the United States of America, which was now presented.

Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancourt, 27, received a comment from four games.

Napoli defender Matthia Olivra, 27, Barcelona defender Ronald Araojo, 26, and Atletico Madrid defender Jose Maria Games, 30, received a ban from three games.

A CAS statement said: “The committee found that in this case the principle of self -defense does not apply.”

“The behavior of the players has been a voluntary, violent and unjustified action that violated the Conmebol Law.”

Nunez will now sit Uruguay's World Cup qualifiers in Paraguay and her homeland for Venezuela next month, along with the match against Peru in September.
