Hillgate movies will focus on documents and formats with House over time Introduction to the screen and behind the camera. Andy said it will be a “co -producer instead of an independent product” that allows Olusoga “to focus on fewer ambitious projects.”

Olusoga joined Hillgate by MD, Ben Hall, who was formerly the Motion Content Group.

Hillgate is launched with the support of BBC Studios in the form of a development deal and a first look at the distribution rights. The couple worked together previously including a deal with the former Olusoga, TV TV, which was closed three years ago.

“I am excited to launch Hillgate films and start this new chapter of producing and presenting projects that challenge, educate and involve the masses. We want to explore the indescribable stories from history, and we are happy with partnership with the advanced and dynamic team in the BBC studios.”

“David has a busy record in telling bold and written stories from the history that resonates globally and can lead conversations and change views. We are pleased to continue to continue the long work relationship and look forward to continuous success with David and Hillgate in the future,” says Kate Ward, Managing Director, BBC Studios – “David has a busy record in telling bold and written stories from the history that resonates globally and can lead conversations and change views.
