The FBI warns millions of Americans that they are warned against an unavoidable text message working on tours-and immediately deleted them if they get them.
(Surprise! It is a fraud.)
Americans have been bombed by textual fraud for some time now, but according to Forms, attacks on iPhone and Android have increased more than 700 % this month alone. The latest one is Dozy, as the Federalists say.
Below, how are the fraudsters break the reassured iPhone users on the Internet – by demonstrating as the DMV department (DMV) in various cases.
The messages seem to be legitimate, and people told that if they do not pay losses or a paid fine, they may be exposed to the abolition of their leadership privileges or possible imprisonment time.
The text includes a link and guides people to respond to the message and then open the link.
But officials warn that all of this is just someone who tries to steal your personal data – and urges users not to click on the link and delete the text immediately.
David Palmer said in a statement that these types of texts can “put harmful programs on your phone, which can enter and steal information from your device, or collect your payment information.”
Also note that in general, if you get a link from an unknown number, you should be careful and not click on it.
“These fraud texts lead to electronic hunting sites designed to steal individuals credit card information and take unauthorized fees,” said a representative of Guardio, a tool that provides protection against harmful programs, stealing identity and hunting in your browser.
“These fraudsters flow on phones with texts, hoping to deceive the reassured people to hand over their personal information. DMV will never send texts asking for sensitive details,” added the New York State Commissioner in New York Mark JF Schroeder.
Those who have received one of these texts are urged to submit a report to the Crime Skeptic Dispute Center of the Federal Investigation Office.
According to what was reported, the states affected by this textual fraud, including Tennessee, New York, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Texas, and Washington, DC.
