Rally Carlos Sainz decided not to run for the chairmanship of the Board of Directors of motorsport in the December elections.
The 63 -year -old, who said in May, said that he is considering the idea, that “the current conditions are not ideal for developing the causes of my nomination.”
Sainz said in a statement on social mediaand external He believes that FIA “still needs important changes, which are still really optimistic in the coming years.”
He added that the campaign will interfere with his preparations for Real Dakar next year.
SAINZ won the Fourth time in 2024 and will compete for the Sahara event in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia next January with Ford.
His son – also called Carlos Sainz – leads Lillams in Formula 1.
“I realized that running properly for the presidency would lead to a noticeable argument for drama and I do not want to weaken the commitment in Ford and my team.
“So these concerns tend to be realistic and stop from FIA's endeavors at the present time.”
The only candidate for elections is the current president, Muhammad bin Selim, who was in his position suffering from differences.
These have changes to FIA laws that seem to extend its control, along with a series of forms of higher figures within FIA, and to participate in a series of situations that angered many in Formula 1, from the Liberty Media commercial holder to Draves.
FIA is currently the subject of Susie Wolf, President of the F1 Academy for Aid Drivers and Mercedesport Head Toto Wolf.
