Exclusive: The Weeknd was filmed as a curious child by director Eddie Alcazar (Divinityand Sabotage) In the new short movie Red horrorAccompanying the song with the same name from the latest release of his album Faster tomorrow. The video can be found above.
Alcazar invented the concept of Fantasy Nightmarish in the aftermath of a conversation with the singer and a prize -winning actor who asked to be “the boy in a haunted forest” is the central point of the story. From the idea to the concept to the final product, Alcazar took about three to four months to complete it.
“The creative freedom and the time in which I worked with ABEL allowed us to dive into preliminary topics and bold techniques. By mixing direct movement, stopping the movement, and VFX, we have really formulated something unique – an experiment that pushes the borders while maintaining the roots in the raw passion.”

Alcazar is famous for the creations of stopping movement, including its latest feature Divinity (2023), CEO of the horror produced by his teacher, Stephen Soderberg, starring Stephen Dorf, Scott Bacola, Moisis Arias, Jasson Jino, Carwach Tran and Bella Thorne. In addition, he collaborated with Darren Arenovsky in the short movie SabotageBill Duke, which was first shown at the Cannes Festival in 2021.

In addition to Red horrorAlcazar directed the last “Hearts Open Hearts” performance in Weeknd Jimmy Kimmel Live! Which broadcast as his album fell. The performance is an introduction to “Red Terror”, and it ends with Weeknd after a child's copy of himself in the forest.

He continued, “Stopping the movement is a complex and painful craft – often considered a lost art – with the animation with an average of only five seconds of the shots per day. Each frame requires accurate attention, from the smallest sets of modifications to the most accurate letters. I am grateful Really because ABEL has documented this process, as it embraced the slow and deliberate pace required to make such a hand -made art on this large range.
