It is easy to say that Arjil was poor at both ends of the field – but statistics do not lie.
They have approved more goals than any other side in the tournament, while a wave of eight goals in the past four matches has seen that it became the highest team in the lower third of the table – but it is too late.
The lack of another striker was the key – with Mohamed Tijani's exit for most of this season through knee strings, Ryan Hardy scored incomplete during Christmas and New Year, was difficult to get goals.
“I still confirm that Arjil has not replaced Nyal Ennis,” Savage said.
“In the league season that won his victory, when Hardy's goals dried up, Enis was on the side and scored the goals.
“Arjil has failed to drop any other person who is able to withstand this burden constantly.
“Tijani was wounded and we took some time to work exactly how to get the best from Mustafa Bondo.
“But if we fall on a striker, we are able to score goals in the January window, we are likely to be in a better position than we are now.”
The Argyle coach, Music, feels that his team has run out of time to change the path.
After they won four of their last six games, they gave themselves a chance to leave Looton's late Coventry championships on Saturday.
“We are empty. We are sad, but we will wake up again.”
“It was a tremendous challenge, and I think we have confronted this challenge, with enthusiasm, positively, with a completely different structure, and a different group and we simply run out of games.
“It takes some time to adapt, to change the structure, to change the team's mentality, almost to change the organization's mindset, and I think we were great, but it is over.”
