Gary Lineker has been set to host the FA Cup and the BBC World Cup after this season, but the offer is now completely removed from his duties amid a violent reaction to a controversial social media post
Gary Lineker has been photographed for the first time since he announced his exit from the BBC after pressing the installation on the position of the offer. The 64 -year -old was subjected to the purchase of a supportive video of Palestine on his Instagram page earlier this week, which included “anti -Semitic” expressive symbols from the campaign group, Palestine Lobby.
Lineker quickly deleted the post and released a short period of apology. The broadcaster now revealed that he will step down from his BBC post after the final match of the season on May 25, which means that he will not continue to cover the FA Cup or the 2026 World Cup as planned.
Lineker made a statement saying, “The retreating back appears to be the path of responsible work” after the reverse reaction to his position.
The former England striker was seen leaving his house on Monday afternoon after his speech. He was seen walking from the front door wearing a regular white t -shirt, dark jeans and a white coach.
Linker seemed to carry a set of keys while trying to leave his home quickly while monitoring the press.

He covered BBC for today's 26 -year match, and was already scheduled to start from the show. But he was constantly scrutinized because of his explicit social media jobs and was previously suspended after criticizing the government immigration policy.
But he will now end his long association with the BBC and scrap plans to host televised events in the future after holding his controversial position, who said “does not reflect my opinions.”
In a statement, he said: “Football was in the heart of my life as long as possible – on the field and in the studio. I am deeply interested in the game, and about the work I did with the BBC for many years. As I said, I will not be creative with consciousness – that it contradicts everything that stopped it.
“However, I realize the error and the inconvenience that I caused, and I repeat how sorry. The retreat now seems to be the path of responsible work.”
