Forest later denied that Marinakis exchanged with Nuno was a “confrontation” and described the subsequent reaction to the situation as “fake news”.
The club said that the accident was due to the frustration of the Marines that striker Tayo Aonie continued to play after an injury in the 88th minute, which then required an urgent surgery.
“I removed my fair share of criticism and praise in the past 14 years of carrying out this job and has never approached this unprecedented procedure,” Neville said.
“While they have all the right to choose those who allow their own stadium, it is a symptom of things that have occurred over the past 12 months with the club.”
Forest can qualify the seventh of the Champions League next season on Sunday if they beat Chelsea on the city's land and other results on their way.
“I personally think it is disappointing that a great club like Nottingham Forest has been reduced to making such a decision,” Neville added.
“I wish the training and the players and the club's fans the best in their endeavor to achieve football in the Champions League.”
The Premier League said that the accreditation was the issue of the club.
