Sony Pictures and Buddha Jones’ trailer for Danny Boyle and Alex Garland’s upcoming zombie-thriller franchise reboot 28 Days Later won the marquee Best in Show prize at the 25th Golden Trailer Awards, which were handed out Thursday at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.

The 28 Years Later trailer, titled “Days,” premiered in December 2024 and became the third most-watched horror trailer of all time with 60.2 million views in its first 24 hours. It won a total of three Golden Trailers tonight, including the Most Original Trailer and Best Voice Over, the latter the group’s Don LaFontaine Award.

Apple TV+’s Severance led all TV series and movies with five wins on the night the awards ceremony, which honor marketing executives and companies that create movie trailers, commercials, posters and innovative, experiential concepts around the world. Its wins

On the film side, Universal’s Oscar-nominated Wicked, this year’s nominations leader with 15, and Warner Bros’ recent vampire horror pic Sinners led with four wins apiece. Disney, which had 109 nominations coming in, led the way among studios with 26 wins across its divisions that included Marvel, Pixar, Searchlight, Disney+, Hulu, National Geographic and ABC.

Wicked‘s wins were for Best Fantasy/Adventure Trailer and Best Adventure TV Spot (both with Trailer Park Group) as well as Most Innovative Advertising for a Feature Film (with Inside Job) and Best Viral Campaign for a Feature Film (with REBEL). Sinners won for Best Horror, Best Sound Editing (both with AV Squad), Best Thriller TV Spot (with Warner Bros., Create Advertising Group) and Most Original Posters for its Fortnight poster collaboration with AV Print.

On the company side, AV Squad won Agency of the Year, repeating the feat after taking last year’s inaugural award in the category. It led all agencies in wins tonight with nine.

A total of 114 categories were up for grabs tonight across nine categories including its newest category covering TV spots for TV/streaming series. A total of 19 categories were revealed onstage tonight.
