One person died and 69 people were injured after the Greek and Turkey earthquake was hit early in this morning, with a teenage girl who tragicly confirmed the first recorded death
A 14 -year -old girl died after a 6.2 -magnitude earthquake struck and Turkey, according to the authorities.
A total of 69 people were also reported after many windows or balconies jumped out of their homes in Fiethy, Türkiye, early this morning.
The Presidency of Disaster and Emergency said that the earthquake was hit at 2:17 am and focused in the Mediterranean, outside the holiday resort in Mararis.
He was perceived in the neighboring areas, including on the Greek island of Rhodes, and woke up from their sleep. There were no reports of damage to the buildings.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya described the scenes of collective panic on X, and revealed that many people raised themselves from the buildings. “In Mugla and its regions, 14 of our citizens who jumped from the highlands were dealt with because of panic at the site.”
“8 people were treated and left out of their feet. Examinations and treatments of 46 of our citizens continue in the emergency room.”

Addressing the death of the young man, he told how she died after a “panic attack”.
He wrote: “On the earthquake, a 14 -year -old girl named Averaneor Gonlo was transferred to the hospital due to a panic in Fiethy, but unfortunately she lost her life despite all the interventions.”
In the nearby Greece, the TUI holidays group Brett is currently in her saying in Rhodes, saying: “Dear guests.
“The earthquake center was about 18 km from Rhodes, at a depth of 68 km (42 miles).
“The local authorities are currently evaluating the situation. At this time, there are no reports of great damage or injuries. As a preventive measure, please keep calm and follow any safety instructions provided by your residence or local officials.
“In the event that any specific action is needed on your part, be assured that we will contact you directly with more directions. Your safety and welfare are our top priority.”
Türkiye lies on the main rift lines, which means that earthquakes occur frequently. In 2023, an earthquake of 7.8 was killed more than 53,000 people.
Hundreds of thousands of buildings are destroyed or damaged. In the northern parts of neighboring Syria, the earthquake claimed the life of another 6000.
