The terrorist group Hamas announced that it would issue the last living American hostage in Gaza in an attempt to establish a ceasefire.
Edan Alexander, an Israeli -American soldier who grew up in the United States from his base during the terrorist attack on October 7.

A source familiar with the matter said that Alexander is likely to be released on Tuesday.
The Palestinian terrorist group said that this is part of the efforts made to reach the ceasefire agreement and allow humanitarian aid to enter the besieged pocket.
Another official, the President of Gaza, Hamas, Khalil Al -Hayya, said that the efforts made to facilitate the release have been jointly implemented by Qatar, Egypt and Turkey.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli Prime Minister's office on the announcement.
Hamas released 38 hostages under the ceasefire that started on January 19.
In March, the Israeli army resumed its lands and air fences on Gaza after Hamas rejected the proposals to extend the truce without ending the war.
Israeli officials said that the attack will continue until the 59 hostages are liberated and that Gaza is designed.
Hamas insists that the hostages will only liberate as part of a deal to end the war and refused the demands to put its arms.
The Iranian -backed terrorist group said it is ready to liberate all the remaining hostages who seized its armed attacks in southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
