“Since I was walking in the old main platform door in 1999, everything I wanted to do. I feel lucky to have the opportunity to do this for another year.

“I took my time to reach this decision – I wanted to make sure it was true.”

Gordon left the hearts of Sunderland in 2007 for 9 million pounds – standard fees by a British club at that time for a goalkeeper – and he returned after six seasons that won the cup with Celtic.

This season, he agreed to challenge his teammate in Scotland International Zander Clarak to be almost at all, as he played 52 times for the club and the country, where he recorded his thirtieth appearance of hearts in Europe – a new record for the club.

Gordon has now played in a club 330 times for hearts through his tips, as his clean group reached 104, while he got his cap in Scotland 81 – fourth behind Kenny Dalglich, Jim Lighton and Andy Robertson.

“I look forward to the new season, determined to make it better than the past,” he added.

“I am ready to do everything I can to help return this team to where we want to be. Another season, another opportunity to achieve.”
