The MP without Bacon (R-NB) will not seek to re-election in the swing area in 2026 and instead he retires from the House of Representatives, according to multiple reports.
Bacon, who served five periods in the lower room that represents the second Congress in Nebraska, is expected to be issued on Monday, according to Punchbowl News and New York Times on Friday.
The Office and a member of the Congress will not confirm its imminent retirement reports, but Bacon shared many messages that you thank for his service on Capitol Hill on X.
The Bacon region, which includes the largest city in Nebraska, Omaha, went to former Vice President Kamala Harris to President Trump in the 2024 elections.
The province also voted for former President Joe Biden on Trump in the 2020 presidential competition.
Bacon won a little difference in his re -election last year, defeating his democratic opponent with less than 2 percentage points.
His departure opens the door for Democrats to capture a seat in the House of Representatives, which are narrowed by Republicans, after the mid -range elections.
Bacon, 61, was an explicit critic of Trump's approach to negotiations aimed at ending Russia's three -year war against Ukraine.
Earlier this year, he told the Post that he felt that Trump was taking a “supportive view of Russia” from the conflict and that the president was “a little departure from Russia.”
