Despite the reports that Euphoria Season 3 is expected to begin filming in January 2025, actress Hunter Schafer recently admitted that she has “no fucking idea what’s going on” amid increasing reports of behind-the-scenes drama and heavy delays.

“You can ask literally all of the cast,” she said during a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast. “The real tea is that a lot has happened.”

Schafer even appeared unsure of whether they would ever return to the show, especially in light of the recent deaths of Euphoria star Angus Cloud and producer Kevin Turen.

“I think everyone feels a certain sense of anticipation for if we are supposed to do Season 3,” Schafer said. “Obviously I’m still coming to qualms about what’s happened and losing people that we really loved and were a part of this family and everything. If we do go back, that’s going to be tough.”

She added, “I think there’s a world in which we can channel that into making it a beautiful Season 3 — if it is supposed to happen, but I think that shit really threw everyone for a loop.”

Schafer’s comments come amid growing rumors surrounding Euphoria‘s heavily delayed third season, which will now be airing least a whopping three years after Season 2 aired on HBO.

A recent report from The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Sam Levinson and Zendaya began having differences after Levinson dedicated his time to the HBO disaster, The Idol, instead of the new season Euphoria. THR reports that “Zendaya’s frustration grew” as Levinson “had not yet delivered scripts.”

Zendaya and Levinson reportedly met with HBO CEO Casey Bloys and head of drama Francesca Orsi to resolve their differences, to no avail. “They went from being so close, and they couldn’t fix it,” one source said.

However, another source cited in the report blamed the delays on Zendaya, claiming the actress was more focused on her own career.

However, Euphoria star Colman Domingo denied that there was any beef among the cast and crew.

“I think it’s just a lot of noise because it’s in the zeitgeist,” he told Andy Cohen. “But in reality, it’s like, we hang with each other, we love each other. We’re giving Sam the time to write the scripts that he wants to write and do it right.”

He also stated that the show takes “long” to produce because it’s “a bit of a masterpiece.”
