Ryan Vickers and Yamaha made a strong start to the weekend as they dominated the times sheet at Thruxton in free practice.

The British Superbike Championship heads to Thruxton this week for a weekend of fast and crazy racing at this unique circuit.

The week started well for Yamaha with Ryan Vickers taking pole position for the OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing Team. After winning all three races at Brands Hatch, Vickers is in good form.

Danny Kent continued his impressive form for Yamaha as he finished FP1 in second place on a McAMS Racing Yamaha. Right behind Kent was Kyle Reid who finished first, second and third on a Yamaha, with a gap of 0.309 seconds between all three Yamaha riders.

The first non-Yamaha rider is former Yamaha rider Jason O’Halloran. The Australian has been historically strong around Thruxton and looks strong on the Kawasaki.

The BMW team’s top rider is former BSB champion Leon Haslam. The BSB veteran finds himself in the top five after the first practice session of the weekend.

Championship leader Tommy Bridewell finds himself sixth in FP1. The local racer is not keen on getting along with Thruxton, but his move to Honda could be a better fit for the track.

Billy McConnell started the weekend well, finishing seventh in FP1. The Australian is just 0.099 seconds behind Bridewell.

Louis Rouleau is eighth in the Pathway race. The Scot has had a great start to the weekend on his Aprilia.

Peter Hickman has had a tough season so far in the British Superbike Championship, but the veteran rider made a promising start to the weekend today.

The best rider on the Ducati team is Christian Iddon on an Oxford Products Racing bike. Ducati has historically struggled at Thruxton, but Iddon is on a mission to challenge for the 2024 BSB championship.
