Portimao WorldSSP, Superpole Results | Adrian Huertas claims his fourth pole position of 2024 –

Adrian Huertas continues his dominance of the 2024 FIA World Supersport Championship as the Spaniard starts from pole position for the fourth time this season.

After just one Training session earlier todayThe World Supersport Championship racers took to the track for the Super Pole race. Ducati was the dominant force in this season’s Super Pole race, taking five of the six first places.

Adrian Huertas increased the Ducati team’s pole position from five to six with his fourth of the season. The Spanish rider has been dominant this year and took pole by 0.2 seconds in Portimao.

Ducati was first and second with Jari Montella putting his Barney Spark Ducati in second place. The Italian may have been 0.2 seconds behind the first place finisher, but he was half a second ahead of third place.

Stefano Manzi was the best Yamaha rider of the Super Pole as he put his Ten Kate Yamaha R6 on the front row in third. Manzi has only won one race so far this season and will be looking for his second win tomorrow.

Federica Caricasolo was the best rider in the Super Pole. The Italian racer finished fourth in free practice earlier today, then fourth in qualifying.

After topping the practice session earlier today, Jorge Navarro qualified in fifth place. Navarro was unable to match his pace in practice earlier today.

Can Öncü finished the day’s race in first place on a Kawasaki after qualifying in sixth place. The Turkish rider has struggled this season, sitting 14th in the championship and has yet to stand on the podium in 2024.

Frenchmen Lucas Mahias and Valentin Debesse qualified seventh and eighth today. The Yamaha riders had finished sixth and seventh earlier in the day and continued their progress all the way to the Super Pole stage.

Marcel Schröter’s pace this week looks to be 9th at best. Earlier today he finished practice 9th and now qualified 9th.

Niki Tolley completed the top ten, putting his Ducati in 10th place. Having not been on the podium since Assen, the Finn will be keen to get back on the podium.

British riders Tom Booth-Amos and John McPhee qualified outside the top ten in 14th and 15th on their Triumph bikes.
