Scott Redding could be back on a Ducati next year in MotoGP after Bonovo leaves the circuit.
During the first free practice session at the Portuguese round of the MotoGP World Championship, Michael Galinski gave WorldSBK.com some important details about the team he is building for the 2025 season. The team will replace the departing Bonovo Action BMW team, but it will not be with the German manufacturer.
Galinsky, the Bonovo Action BMW team principal, does not want to end his career in the WorldSBK championship. He will drive for a new team for the 2025 season, but it will be with Ducati, not BMW.
When asked by WorldSBK.com about his new team, the only thing Galinsky could confirm was the manufacturer:
“At the moment, we certainly say 100% to Ducati now, that’s clear but we will know at the latest at the next race.”
When asked about the 2025 rider line-up, Galinsky did not name any riders in particular, but said the team would know who would ride for them by Magny-Cours next month:
“We will know at the next race. On August 20th, we will have a meeting and then we will make a decision, we have four riders who want to ride with us. So, we will make a decision this month.”
With Bonovo pulling out in 2025, it means Scott Redding is out of contract with BMW, but without a bike to ride. Galinsky was asked if one of his current riders (Redding) would join him on his new team. Galinsky confirmed Redding is an option for 2025, saying he is “one of the four.”
