Next up on the 2024 Democratic National Convention speaker lineup: Tim Walz.
Vice president Kamala Harris selected the Minnesota governor as her vice-presidential pick earlier this month, and since then, the two have embarked on the campaign trail.
While Maya Rudolph may be back in the Harris hot seat on Saturday Night Live, Steve Martin opted out of portraying Walz on the NBC sketch comedy show, arguing that he is “not an impressionist” and that they “need someone who can really nail the guy.”
“I was picked because I have gray hair and glasses,” he explained to the Los Angeles Times.
Ahead of officially turning down the gig, he teased on Instagram Threads shortly after Harris’ running mate announcement that he “just learned that Tim Walz wants to go on the road with Marty Short.”
