Kamala Harris‘ acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday is being widely praised — even Fox News is saying a few nice things about the Vice President’s remarks.
Coming in at 40 minutes and within the primetime TV window on the all-important East Coast, Harris’ speech in front of 5000 delegates at Chicago’s United Center was full of language and pledges that would have fit in at a DNC or GOP convention in the 1990s, as Ted Johnson and I said in our story earlier tonight. As an example, her deft handling of Hamas’ murderous attack on Israel last fall, the scorched-earth Gaza War and calls for a cease-fire and return of hostages took much of the sting out of one of the sharpest divisions within the Democratic Party.
