While Curry was widely speculated as a trade target for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, he is staying with his career team for one more year.

Curry is now under contract with the Warriors through the 2026-27 season, giving him three more years with the team.

He will be 38 by the time his contract with the Warriors expires, if he isn’t traded by the time it expires.

At the Olympics, Curry averaged 14.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in six games with LeBron.

LeBron averaged 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists.

After winning gold, LeBron shared how much he loved playing with the guys he usually faces off against.

“I’m just living in the moment,” he said.

“Super humbled that I could still play this game, play it at a high level, played with 11 other great players, with a great coaching staff, and then go out and do it for our country.

“It was a great moment.”

Fans were shocked by the sudden contract extension, and wondered whether Curry and LeBron could ever team up again after the Olympics.

“Warriors killing all that Steph joining forces with Lebron in LA noise,” one fan said.

“Your move, LeBron. Get to the Warriors if you want to play with Steph!” another fan said.

“You still can’t convince me these two won’t try teaming up before they retire,” a third fan said.

“The warriors will never trade Steph. Lebron leaving the lakers are is far more likely,” a fourth fan said.

“Wonder if that year, LeBron signes a MLE with Warriors & plays his last year with Steph, then they both retire?” a fifth fan said.

What the new TV deal means for the NBA?

By The U.S. Sun’s Assistant Sports Editor Damian Burchardt.

THE new TV rights deal is promising to be a humongous win for NBA players.

The league is set to more than double the revenue coming from its media partners, pocketing about $6.9 billion per year, which will inevitably lead to a huge salary cap spike in 2025-26.

That is going to send the value of player contracts skyrocketing.

Projected figures suggest we might see the first $100 million-per-year deal being signed soon.

Currently, Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum is projected to earn the highest single-season salary in NBA history, collecting $71.5 million in 2029-30.

If TNT Sports successfully matches one of the offers to maintain its decades-long partnership with the league, hoops fans will be on the winning side too.

The network’s flagship, Inside the NBA, is a one-of-a-kind sports entertainment show, as evidenced by ESPN’s ongoing failure to come up with its own version of the program in recent years.

The NBA wouldn’t be the same without Kenny and Ernie trying to make sense of Shaq and Chuck’s never-ending bickering every Tuesday night.

Seeing LeBron and Curry as teammates was a possibility before the Olympic games, as the Warriors sought out a trade for LeBron.

At last year’s trade deadline, the Warriors attempted to trade with the Lakers, but LeBron’s agent, Rich Paul, blocked it.

“Sources say Paul implored both teams to scrap the concept, despite some owner-to-owner dialogue between the Warriors’ Joe Lacob and the Lakers’ Jeanie Buss and Green’s determination to lobby James to push for relocation to the Bay Area,” NBA writer Mark Stein wrote.

“Largely because he wanted to insulate James from potential backlash over switching teams for the fourth time in his career.”

Many signs point towards LeBron staying in Los Angeles for the remainder of his career as long as Paul remains his agent.
