Unfortunately, PlayStation players have been left disappointed, as this version appears to have more bugs and issues than the PC and Xbox Series X|S releases.

While Ubisoft is still patching the game and trying to improve its performance, a message to those who paid extra for the Gold or Ultimate Edition has left players upset.

The Gold Edition costs $40/£35 more than the Standard version, while Ultimate costs $60/£50 extra.

However, alongside other goodies it allowed people to start playing three days early, which is a big pull for many fans.

Unfortunately for these players, Ubisoft is asking them to restart their games on PS5 deleting their save data.

The latest version 1.000.002, fixes a large number of bugs and implements a new graphics mode, but save data can apparently not be transferred to the new version.

Players were encouraged to restart the games or else they may run into a game-breaking bug later on.

The message reads: “To best experience the Outer Rim, we rolled out a maintenance to make sure everyone is playing the latest version of the game.

“As one of the players affected who had access to an older version of the game, we are aware you might be encountering some issues after this recent patch.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

“Once you’ve confirmed you have the latest version, please start a new save to fully enjoy Star Wars Outlaws as our team intended.

“If you continue on a prior save you will unfortunately face issues and progression blockers.”

Ubisoft is trying to compensate players affected by the bug by offering them in-game cosmetics.

They will receive a Trailblazer trinket, which is a cosmetic for their ship or speeder, as well as 100 Ubisoft Connect Units.

These Units can be spent on rewards via Ubisoft Connect for Star Wars Outlaws or other Ubisoft games.

You can find the Trailblazer trinket in the same place where you access DLC.
