THE Kansas City Chiefs are finally set to kickstart the 2024 NFL season.
Almost seven months on from their triumph at Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers, the Chiefs will host the season opener against the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium.
Leading the charge against the Ravens, who the Chiefs beat at the AFC Championship game to reach the most recent Super Bowl, will be the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce – who is currently dating pop sensation Taylor Swift.
The Chiefs’ dynamic duo featured in the team’s most recent Instagram post captioned “Eyes on the Ravens.”
Mahomes and Kelce were snapped hard at work at the team’s training facility in the post.
Teammates JuJu Smith-Schuster, Cameron Thomas, Samaje Perine, Rashee Rice, Isiah Pacheco, Trent McDuffie, Baylor Cupp, Mecole Hardman, and Jawaan Taylor were also photographed preparing for the game.
For some fans, their excited reactions weren’t driven by the return of the Chiefs stars to the gridiron, but by the blossoming relationship between Swift and Kelce.
“Is Taylor gonna be there???? (She probably is hehehe),” one fan asked.
“Let’s go team Taylor’s boyfriend,” said a second.
“87 (Kelce) looking good,” added another.
“Eyes on Taylor Swift, penalty flags, and O-line holdings without penalties,” commented a fourth.
While another asked, “They a squad. Another ring??”
The Chiefs are hoping to become the first team to ever win three consecutive Super Bowls come February 2025 in New Orleans.
And as it turns out, Swift could play a part in helping the Chiefs achieve the goal.
In a recent interview with NBC Sports, Mahomes raved about Swift’s desire for a deeper understanding of football.
“She’s really interested in football, and she asks a lot of great questions,” he said.
“Started drawing up plays. We might have to put one in.”
Swift recently returned to the US following the conclusion of the European leg of her blockbuster Eras Tour.
Following her return, she and Kelce hosted an A-list get-together at her $17.75 million Rhode Island vacation home.
One last chance to relax together ahead of the NFL season, Swift and Kelce were joined by stars including Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds, Zoe Kravitz, and Channing Tatum.
Kelce’s brother Jason also made the trip along with his wife Kylie, as did Mahomes and his wife Brittany.
Now the time for parties is over, with the Chiefs set to open the season on September 5.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 8:20pm ET on NBC.
