The only person who may have had as good a year as Scottie Scheffler could be his caddie, Ted Scott.

The veteran bagman is estimated to be taking home over $5 million this year after Scheffler’s monster year, which includes the $25 million FedEx Cup Playoffs final prize.

Scott is believed to have earned $2.6 million from Scheffler’s 2024 victories by themselves, according to Golf Digest, and then add on top of that the $2.5 million he earned from the victory at the PGA Tour Championship.

“Yep. I’m not coming back until 2026,” Scott posted on X, along with a winking face with tongue emoji, in response to a post about Scheffler’s 2024 success.

Scott, who had previously caddied for Bubba Watson, was talked out of retiring in 2021, according to WFAA.

The decision has been beneficial for everyone as Scott enjoyed a lucrative year in 2024 and watched Scheffler rise to become the world’s No. 1 golfer over the past few years.

It was estimated by NBC Sports that Scott earned $5,238,499.57 in total this year and the amount would put him in the top 20 of earners on the PGA Tour money list.

That would put him over the likes of Jordan Spieth and many other big-name golfers.

Scheffler and Scott’s partnership began in 2021 and the two had come across one another after attending a bible study together.

“I just think the world of him as a person so that was why I was attracted to him just being a potential good partner for me out on the course,” Scheffler said of Scott, according to Golf Monthly.
