FUMING shoppers have slammed the retailer for their return policy, claiming there’s not enough time to properly test out their purchases.
Several Best Buy shoppers have expressed their frustrations with the retailer on social media.
“@BestBuy is there anyone with a worse return policy than Best Buy?” asked one frustrated consumer.
“Brought back a faulty shop vac less than a month after I received to store and they’d only offer me store credit,” they tweeted.
The retailer replied on the social media platform, asking the consumer to send them a DM with their full name, phone number, email address, and purchase information.
However, the consumer said they are not willing to go back and forth with the retailer.
“Your store sucks and your customer service is even worse. Thanks for providing zero resolution. I’ll never be coming back to your awful store,” they responded.
Another shopper said the return policy doesn’t allow for enough time for consumers to really test the product before requesting a refund or exchange.
“Your 14 day return policy is a joke,” they tweeted. “Buying electronics for college, some don’t fit so I have to buy at college and you give me store credit for 14 days over instead of a refund???”
Again, a representative from Best Buy responded to the consumer, asking them to provide more information using a secure link.
However, the shopper claimed the link did not “go anywhere.”
With concerns over inflation, consumers are more mindful about where they’re spending their money.
According to their website, the retailer claims most products are returnable within 15 days. Those who are Best Buy Plus or My Best Buy Total members receive 60 days to return most products.
The only exception is for “activatable devices” which can only be returned within 14 days.
The website describes “activatable devices” as devices that are capable of being activated. This includes cell phones, cellular tablets, mobile hotspots, and cellular wearables.
Shoppers can return any item purchased on BestBuy.com at any Best Buy store location.

For faster return processing, the retailer asks consumer to bring their packing slip, receipt, the credit card used to make the purchase, and a valid photo ID.
Shoppers who cannot provide proof of purchase may require an email address and their returns could be denied or limited. State sales taxes and fees will not be reimbursed, the website states.
Shoppers who want to make a return via mail will get free shipping on their return by using Best Buy’s prepaid label. The process can be completed on consumers’ Best Buy account.
Best Buy also has a list of non-returnable items including non-subscription digital content, codes or prepaid cards, vehicle replacement key fobs, memberships, and trading cards.
Meanwhile, a Best Buy customer is urging other shoppers to avoid the electronics retailer after having a gift card take nearly two days to arrive after purchasing online.
And the retailer introduced a new feature that will show what a product looks like in your home, but not everyone can enjoy the update.
